Domains for the Mobile Internet

Your SMS Administration Page

The section has been designed as your central location to:

administer users

provide individual and group usage rights

setup specific domain and e-mail access

control message routing between different SMS gateways

provide an audit trail of all messsage sent from your account

provide a summary of remaining credits in your account.

Many of the functions found in this section are similar to the type of functions available to a mail administrator, with facilities for Adds,
Moves and Changes.

Logging into the Administration Page

To login to the SMS Administration Page click on the preceding link. This will take your directly to our secure login page where you need to enter your e-mail address and password to gain access.

These details would have been provided to your administrator as part of your license activation when you were assigned a MobiSMS for Outlook account.

Once you have successfully logged in, you will be shown your 'Company Details' screen.

This contains information about your company, including contact details, license limits, remaining credit balance, Internet domains, your SMS gateway routes and approved e-mail accounts.

The option exists to both edit and change these details.

This section also enables you to Add additional Administrators to your account, to configure Groups with specific usage rights and to retain a complete audit trail of message send from all users on your account.

Configuring Groups

MobiSMS allows you to configure your account with usage rights for different parts of your organisation.

For instance, separate groups may be allocated for Sales, Finance, Production, Management etc.

Each group can have its own administrator, members and usage rights. Typically, this would be configured by your company SMS Administrator.

Configuring SMS gateway routes

By including the option to set your own SMS gateway routes, you are able to control both the pricing and features of MobiSMS.

There are currently gateway options for 1-way and 2-way messaging routes. These gateways can be applied to four different types of messages:

GENERAL: standard conversational type SMS messages.

BULK: messages sent to large groups of people, often with personalised
content and the inclusion of a Sender ID.

GENERATED TO SELF: messages sent as reminders, Calendar events
and Tasks or Inbox alerts.

GENERATED TO OTHER: messages sent to a third party. This might be a
meeting invitee, a recipient of an Inbox alert or a Project task.

Selecting to use either a 1-way or 2-way gateway will affect both the features and pricing of the messages you send.

MobiMarketing 1 way gateway: this gateway offers optimum pricing to your local and international carriers. It also allows you to include your Sender ID in the message body to a maximum of 11 characters. This will not occur automatically, you need to enter this tag into the Sender ID field. If you ignore this tag, the phone number you used when you installed MobiSMS on your computer will be inserted. This allows the recipient of your message to send an SMS reply to your phone.

MobiMarketing 2 way gateway: this gateway provides two-way messaging to either your Outlook Inbox or to your phone handset. By selecting this option, messages sent from MobiSMS carry a unique tag. This tag routes the reply message back to your Outlook Inbox or to your mobile phone. (To redirect a message back to your mobile phone, go OPTIONS --> SENDING --> REPLY ROUTE). This routing option is useful if you plan to be away from your desk for any period of time and would like your messages to 'follow you'.

MobiMarketing 1 way AU gateway: this gateway provides a direct connection to our Australian gateway. Use this setting if you are experiencing difficulty in reaching Australian mobile numbers. Our AU gateway supports the use of the Australian 'Number Portability' database, effectively support numbers that have been ported between mobile carriers.

Changing your gateway settings:

Unless requested otherwise, when your account is setup on our authentication server, the settings shown above will appear as your default gateways. Click ADD PERSONAL ROUTE to change these settings.

Additional changes can be made at any time by selecting the EDIT/DELETE option. Changes made at the COMPANY levels will affect all member of the Company. Changes made at the GROUP level will only affect the members of that group. Changes made at an EMPLOYEE level will only affect the specific employee.

Message auditing and archival storage

If you already administer the corporate e-mail in your organisation, then you would be familiar with the issues of financial control and content supervision.

Key to these issues is ability to rapidly disable users and control group usage.

MobiSMS has unique audit and control features to manage this environment.

Using our central control panel, accounts can be easily disabled or extended with specific usage rights. This can be down at the individual, group or organisational level. More specifically, from the MobiSMS control panel an administrator can drill down to the individual message level. These messages can be reviewed and printed for audit purposes.
